Union Volleyball was founded in 2001 by Eddie Smallwood and Kerry Freeberg and began competing in USA Volleyball in January of 2002. Comprised mostly of players and coaches from Southern Indiana and the South Louisville area, Union started with over 20 teams in our first season. Through the years we've seen growth in numbers and player development, as well as developing a first rate coaching staff and philosophy of training athletes to reach their maximum potential. Reorganized in 2006, legacy coach Terri Purichia took on the role of Club Administrative Director.

In 2009, Eric Garvey joined Union as Louisville Director, and was instrumental in Union expanding its base into the central and east Louisville area. We began forming teams out of Hoops USA in 2010 and saw continued growth into the 2011 season. Union has grown into the largest club in the Pioneer Region, with 48 teams competing in age groups of 10 thru 18 year olds. Our coaching staff encompasses elementary, high school and college coaches from the majority of Southern Indiana and Louisville metropolitan schools.

We currently practice out of SISC, Nolan Field house and Hoops. As an organization we remain committed to the growth and development of our athletes, our coaching staff, our club, the Pioneer Region and USA Volleyball.
